
Dr. Zhang Jianmin, Associate Dean, Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor at the College of Veterinary Medicine, South China Agricultural University (SCAU). He has been recognized as a Shennong Young Talent of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, a Distinguished Professor of the Guangdong Province Pearl River Scholar Program (announced), a Guangdong Province Young Pearl River Scholar, and a Guangzhou Pearl River Science and Technology Rising Star. He currently serves as Director of the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Prevention and Control for Major Zoonotic Diseases in Ordinary Universities, a member of the Subcommittee on Food Microbiology of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), a council member of both the Infectious Diseases Branch and the Avian Diseases Branch of the Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine (CAAV), a member of the Guangdong Provincial Animal Disease Prevention Expert Committee, a member of the Expert Committee for the Standardization of Livestock and Poultry Slaughtering in Guangdong Province, member of the Academic Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Enterprise Key Laboratory for Pig Production and Disease Prevention Technology Research. His research focuses on the fundamental and applied research of major bacterial diseases in livestock and poultry. In recent years, he has led 23 research projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), sub-projects of the National Key Research and Development Program, and the Guangdong Provincial Key Research and Development Program. He has published over 100 research papers, including 59 SCI papers as first or corresponding author in journals such as Autophagy, Advanced Science, and Biosensors and Bioelectronics. He has been granted or filed 23 patents and obtained 2 software copyrights. He has received 3 provincial/ministerial-level science and technology achievement awards, including the First Prize of the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. He has also been honored with the "Young Science and Technology Award" on the 70th anniversary of the Guangdong Provincial Association of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, the "Outstanding Scientific Worker" award of the Guangdong Provincial Association of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, and the "Advanced Scientific Worker" award of the Infectious Diseases Branch of the CAAV. He serves on the Editorial Board of Food Microbiology, as an Associate Editor of Frontiers in Microbiology, and as a reviewer for more than a dozen SCI journals, including Microbiome and Emerging Microbes & Infections.
