Dr. Ye Jianqiang, Level-II Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, and Head of the Department of Preventive Veterinary Medicine at Yangzhou University. After earning his Ph.D. in 2005, he conducted postdoctoral research at Nanjing University and the University of Maryland, USA, and later worked as a Research Assistant Professor at Mississippi State University, USA. He joined the College of Veterinary Medicine at Yangzhou University in 2013. Following his return to China, he has received numerous honors, including the National May Day Labor Medal, the State Council Special Government Allowance, recognition as a candidate of the National Hundred Thousand and Ten Thousand Talents Project, the Jiangsu Province Outstanding Returned Overseas Scholar Award, selection as a second-level candidate of the Jiangsu Province "333 Project," and the Yangzhou City Advanced Worker Award. He has also been honored with the national title of "Young and Middle-Aged Expert with Outstanding Contributions." He currently serves as a member of the Academic Committee of the Project Management Professional Agency of the Science and Technology Development Center, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and as a council member of the Avian Diseases Branch of the Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine (CAAV). He has long been engaged in innovative research on the pathogenic mechanisms and immunological prevention and control of emerging and re-emerging viral diseases in animals. In recent years, he has published over 100 SCI papers in prestigious international journals including Cellular & Molecular Immunology, Emerging Infectious Diseases, Emerging Microbes & Infections, and the Journal of Virology. As the lead inventor, he has been granted 17 invention patents and has obtained 5 New Veterinary Drug Certificates. He has led more than 10 national and provincial/ministerial research projects. He has supervised 7 postdoctoral fellows, 20 Ph.D. students, and 50 Master's students. His awards include the Second Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award from the Ministry of Education, recognition as one of the Top 10 Scientific and Technological Advances in Jiangsu Province for 2024, the China Outstanding Veterinarian Award, the New Technology and New Product Award in the Veterinary Field, the "Avian Disease Research Innovation Award" and the "Academic Innovation Award" from the Avian Diseases Branch of the CAAV, and the National First Prize (as faculty advisor) in the 8th National College Student Life Science Competition (Innovation and Entrepreneurship Category).
