Dr. Bai Jianfa is a Professor and Director of the Molecular Research and Development Laboratory at the Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (KSVDL), Kansas State University. He earned his Bachelor's degree from Northwest A&F University in Yangling, China; a Master's degree from the University of the Philippines; and a Ph.D. from Kansas State University. With extensive expertise in molecular microbiology, basic bioinformatics, and genomics, Dr. Bai leads the development and validation of molecular testing protocols at KSVDL. Over the past decade, his team has developed more than 60 molecular diagnostic assays, including syndromic panels for multiple animal species.

Dr. Bai serves as a member of the Technical Methods Core Working Group for the USDA's National Animal Health Laboratory Network (NAHLN) and is the former co-chair of the Laboratory Technology Committee of the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (AAVLD). He also sits on the Kansas State University Institutional Biosafety Committee, with over 130 SCI-indexed publications.
