Vice Chairman of the Veterinary Pathology Branch of the Chinese Society of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine;
Vice President of the Veterinary Pathologist Professional Committee of the Chinese Veterinary Medical Association;
Vice Chairman of the Zoonotic Tuberculosis Professional Committee of the Chinese Anti-Tuberculosis Association
Professor Xiangmei Zhou serves as the person in charge of the national first-class undergraduate course Veterinary Pathological Anatomy and the Ministry of Education certified MOOC of the same name. She was awarded the title of Outstanding Teacher of China Agricultural University for the 2020–2021 academic year. She has edited and participated in the compilation of 9 textbooks, and contributed to the compilation and translation of 10 books. She developed and hosted the online course Veterinary Pathological Anatomy, which was officially launched and operated on platforms including China University MOOC and Zhihuishu in April 2020, serving tens of thousands of students.
Her research focuses on the pathogenesis and prevention and control technologies of zoonotic tuberculosis. As a corresponding author, She has published more than 60 papers as corresponding author in top international journals including Nature Communications, Autophagy (2022, 2025), Emerging Microbes & Infections, Transboundary and Emerging Diseases, Journal of Infectious Diseases, and Journal of Infection. She has obtained 9 national invention patents as the first inventor.
She has presided over a total of 23 scientific research projects, including sub-projects of the 14th Five-Year National Key R&D Program, 6 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and international cooperation special projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology. She has received 3 Ministry of Education Science and Technology Achievement Certificates, the Third Prize of Tianjin Science and Technology Progress Award, and 4 awards including the Beijing Excellent Youth Science and Technology Paper Award.
