Dr. Lei, Ph.D., doctoral supervisor, professor of Microbiology and immunology, College of veterinary medicine, Jilin University. He is also the Director of Jilin veterinary biological products engineering research center, and has been engaged in teaching and scientific research on Pathogenic Microbiology and Immunology all the time, which main research contents include important pathogenic bacteria, such as Streptococcus suis, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, pathogenic factor recognition and its interaction with host, host anti-infection (including multi pathogen infection) immune response, new vaccines and antibody drugs. He has successively presided over the key international cooperation projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the key special subjects of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the "13th Five-Year Plan", and the sub-projects of the "973" project of the Ministry of Science and Technology. He has developed characteristics in bacterial meningitis, pneumonia and nutritional immunity, and published more than 200 scientific papers, including more than 100 SCI papers (including PNAS, Plos pathogen, Cell death disease, Infect Immun., Scientific reports, Front Immunol., Vet microbiology, Vet research and other journals). He won 2 first prizes of Jilin Province Science and Technology Progress Award (ranking 2nd and 4th), 1 third prize (No. 1), and 1 second prize of Jilin Province Natural Science Academic Achievement Award (No.1). Professor Lei serves as a member of the 7th Veterinary Drug Evaluation Committee, evaluation experts of the National Scholarship Committee of China, an executive director of the Biotechnology Branch of the Chinese Society of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, a member of the Science and Technology Work and Advisory Committee of the Chinese Society of Microbiology, and a director of the Animal Infectious Diseases Branch of the Chinese Society of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, Vice chairman of Veterinary Microbiology Committee of Chinese society of Microbiology. He also serves as the executive director of the Jilin Provincial Microbiology Society and the chairman of the Veterinary Microbiology Committee of the Jilin Provincial Microbiology Society, the thirteenth batch of young and middle-aged professional and technical talents with outstanding contributions of Jilin Province.
