I grew up in the Midwest United States. My father was a mixed animal veterinary practitioner. I attended Veterinary School at Kansas State University and then practiced for 14 years. I then attended Iowa State University and received my MS and PhD in toxicology. I have worked to the University of Nebraska, was a Senior Principal Investigator for Bayer AG in Kansas City, Missouri. I was on faculty at The University of Nebraska, Iowa State University and now Kansas State University. My focus is veterinary food animal toxicology. I have published extensively on veterinary toxicology topics including mycotoxins. I have authored several book chapters and peer reviewed publications about mycotoxin toxicosis. I am presently supervising a veterinary toxicology resident. I just received a United States Department of Agriculture grant to train veterinary toxicologist.
