Dr. Chang Cai, Associate Professor of Veterinary Epidemiology at Murdoch University, Australia. Dr. Chang Cai graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine of China Agricultural University, and successively obtained her Master degree in Veterinary Surveillance and Doctorate degree in Veterinary Epidemiology from the School of Veterinary Medicine, Murdoch University. She is the first Chinese veterinary epidemiologist who obtained a Doctorate degree in veterinary epidemiology abroad. After graduation, she started to work with Murdoch University in the same year to supervise PhD candidates. Her positions held at Murdoch including Lecturer, International Cooperation Coordinator, Associate Professor, and other positions. The introduction of veterinary epidemiology into the field of animal health in China was relatively late. Professor Cai, as a scarce talent in this field, has been cooperating with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs to carry out risk analysis projects for major animal diseases such as foot-and-mouth disease in border areas since her doctoral stage.
