Min Yue, PhD, is a doctoral supervisor and a nationally recognized scholar supported by China’s National Talent Program (2017). He is an expert member of the FAO/WHO Joint Expert Meetings on Microbiological Risk Assessment (JEMRA) (2023–2027) and was named a Distinguished Scholar for Pandemic Prevention (2024). He is a specially appointed expert under Zhejiang Province’s Overseas High-Level Talent Recruitment Program (2018) and a recipient of the Zhejiang Provincial Outstanding Young Scientist Fund (2019).  From July 2010 to February 2017, he worked at the University of Pennsylvania, USA, as a postdoctoral fellow and research associate.

Dr. Yue’s research focuses on pathogen genomics and biosafety, with an emphasis on zoonotic pathogens—particularly Salmonella. Leveraging microbiome and other large-scale datasets together with systems biology approaches, his team has elucidated patterns of pathogen emergence and transmission, uncovered mechanisms underlying cross-species infection and persistent colonization, and developed data-driven early-warning and risk assessment platforms for pathogen surveillance. He has led and participated in more than ten major research projects, including National Key R&D Program sub-projects and National Natural Science Foundation grants. As corresponding author, he has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers in journals such as Nature Medicine, National Science Review, Nature Communications (2 papers), EMBO Molecular Medicine, Clinical Infectious Diseases (2 papers), and mBio, with over 5,000 citations, including seven ESI top 1% highly cited papers.

Dr. Yue holds 10 Chinese invention patents (filed/authorized) and has contributed to two group standards. His honors include the Publons Global Peer Review Award, the American Society for Microbiology Minority Mentoring Award, and the award for best presentation at the 24th Philadelphia Infection and Immunity Conference. He was listed among the World’s Top 2% Scientists (Stanford University–Elsevier) for three consecutive years (2022–2024). He has delivered more than 20 plenary and invited talks at international and domestic conferences. Dr. Yue has served on review panels for multiple research funding programs and is an editorial board member or associate editor for journals including PLoS Pathogens, mSystems, Foodborne Pathogens and Disease, and others. He has reviewed over 500 manuscripts for more than 80 international journals, including BMJ, The Lancet Microbe, Clinical Microbiology Reviews, Cell Reports, and Emerging Infectious Diseases. He also contributes to global Salmonella risk assessment revisions through FAO/WHO JEMRA and has submitted policy briefs to the China Association for Science and Technology on zoonotic bacterial pathogens and antimicrobial resistance.
