
Dr. Shi Yao is an Associate Professor at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Northwest A&F University. He received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Nanjing Agricultural University and China Agricultural University, respectively, and subsequently earned his Ph.D. from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Utrecht University and the Amsterdam University Medical Center (UMC) in the Netherlands. His research focuses on bacterial glycobiology, particularly the role of bacterial surface polysaccharides in pathogen-host interactions and their vaccine potential. His representative research achievement is the identification and vaccine potential evaluation of the secondary cell wall polysaccharide of Streptococcus suis.
