Dr. Lan He is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Huazhong Agricultural University. She is a Young Top-Notch Talent under the National "Ten Thousand Talents Program" and a Shennong Young Talent of the Ministry of Agriculture. She served as Co-Chair of the 4th International Conference on Babesiosis, becoming the youngest and only ethnic Chinese chair in the conference's history. She is also the Principal Investigator for a Young Scientist Project under the 14th Five-Year Plan R&D Program. Her research focuses on the pathogenic mechanisms and control technologies of parasites. She has established multiple in vitro culture systems, animal models, genetic manipulation systems, and drug-screening platforms for Babesia. She has developed one rapid diagnostic kit, two live-attenuated Babesia vaccines, and two candidate antiparasitic drugs. She has led 25 projects, including projects funded by the National Key Research and Development Program of China, the National Basic Research Program (973 Program), and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. She has also published over 45 SCI papers as first/corresponding author, been granted 15 invention patents (10 as primary inventor, 3 licensed to enterprises), and drafted 1 national and 1 Hubei provincial standard.
