Dr. Aizhen Guo is a Professor of Animal Infectious Diseases at Huazhong Agricultural University. Recipient of the Special Government Allowance of the State Council, Director of the Division of Disease Prevention and Control, China Agricultural Research System (Beef and Yak) ，Outstanding National Agricultural Research Talent and Leader of the Innovation Team for Basic and Technical Research on Bovine Disease Prevention and Control, Director of the Professional Laboratory for Animal Tuberculosis (Wuhan) , the Key Laboratory in Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Vice Director of the Institute of Herbivorous Animal Industry in Huazhong Agricultural University; Former Chair of the Large Animal Group, National Expert Committee on Animal Epidemic Prevention.Her research focuses on the epidemiology, pathogenic and immune mechanisms of important infectious diseases of cattle and zoonotic diseases, as well as the research and development of novel vaccines and diagnostic reagents. She has presided over and undertaken more than 80 scientific research projects at or above the provincial and ministerial level. She has been granted 55 Chinese invention patents, 5 new veterinary drug licenses (including 1 Class I and 3 Class II licenses), and 1 safety certificate for genetically modified microorganisms. She has formulated 16 standards for bovine disease prevention and control, including 2 national standards, 2 industry standards, 2 association standards and 10 local standards. As chief editor, she has published 10 professional books including Bovine Tuberculosis, Atlas of Bovine Diseases and Technical Atlas of Prevention and Control of Common Diseases in Beef Cattle, and published more than 360 academic papers. She has won 6 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, including first and second prizes.
