Dr. Gao Yu is an Associate Professor at the College of Veterinary Medicine, China Agricultural University. She earned her Doctorate in Clinical Veterinary Medicine (summa cum laude) from the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Germany, where she received the Erich-Ähnelt-Gedächtnispreis academic award. Her research focuses on clinical laboratory diagnostics of equine animals and comparative oncology. She is the editor of Atlas of Newborn Foal Nursing and a contributor and translator of several veterinary books, including Equine Medicine, Recognition and Application of Equine Behavioral Language, and Equine Emergency Medicine. She received advanced clinical training at the Equine Medical and Surgical Center (Arizona, USA), the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at Colorado State University, the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna, The Hong Kong Jockey Club, and the University of Agriculture in Kraków. In the past two years, she has published 6 academic papers as first or corresponding author.
