Dr. Yong Guo is an associate professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering of Tsinghua University. He is and a member of the National Technical Committee on Biochip of Standardization Administration of China. He has served in the editorial boards of Scientific Report and Infectious Microbes & Diseases. Dr. Guo has authored 25 peer-reviewed publications. He has obtained 25 granted patents and established 4 national standards. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Peking University in 2001 and his PhD from Tsinghua University in 2006. He was a visiting scholar at Harvard University from 2012 to 2014. Dr. Guo’s work has been translated into a number of gene chip and digital PCR diagnostic products, among which, 6 have obtained Chinese medical device approval and 3 have received EU CE certifications. The products have also won a series of awards including the National Key New Products, Gold Award for China In Vitro Diagnosis Outstanding Innovation Products, and Beijing Independent Innovation Products. Dr. Guo has been given the honors of the Science and Technology Star of Beijing and In Vitro Diagnosis Industry Leader Award. He has directed research projects funded by the Key Research and Development Plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Major Projects of the Health and Family Planning Commission, and the National Natural Science Foundation.
